30 Days of Self-Care

It's time to let go of the inner critic and self-judgement and replace it with kindness, patience and care.

We believe that the world would be a very different place if more people (especially women) were kinder to themselves.

We want to help you learn how to take really good care of yourself, the same way that you probably already take care of other people in your life.

Research shows that self-compassion leads to higher levels of happiness, physical & emotional health and motivation, as well as stronger relationships. We owe it to ourselves, and each other, to change the misconception that self-care is selfish. Self-care helps us to be our best selves, and goodness knows the world needs more of that.

Self-compassion is the powerhouse of self-care. It allows you to acknowledge and deal with the tricky parts of life and of being a human. It also helps you build your own wisdom about what is truly good for you, and gives you the confidence and courage to do the things in life that are most important to you, even when they are scary and hard.

Self-compassion and good self-care are skills that you can learn (even if it seems like we're talking in a different language right now).

Join us and give yourself the gift of a month of self-care.

The course goes for 30 days.

How long do I have access to the course?

You will be able to access the course content until 31 July 2024.

How much time will the course take?

We've designed the exercises to take 15 minutes or less per day.

What if I miss a day?

We all have those kinds of days. It's up to you how you go about it. You can skip that day, catch up on two exercises on a day where you have more time or whatever other approach works best for you. Whatever you decide, try to make sure you're doing your best to be kind to yourself. We promote progress, not perfection.

What if the course isn't for me?

If you're not happy with the course, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll give you a full refund.

I have done 30 Days of Self-Care or Self-Care September before, is it the same?

This current version of 30 Days of Self-Care is the same as the 2023 version of Self-Care September and includes a different exercise to the previous version of 30 Days of Self-Care.

The course content is mostly the same year to year because we believe there is a lot of value in repeating practices until they feel like second nature.

What are your qualifications?

Candice completed a Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)(Honours), Doctor of Psychology (Health), and Clinical Psychology Bridging Course all at Deakin University.

Lauren completed a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)(Honours) at University of Queensland and Doctor of Psychology (Health) at Deakin University. She is also an accredited Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC-MH) through ANZAED.

We're both registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and are members of the Australian Psychological Society (that's why we have MAPS at the end of our names in our bios).

Can I get one-to-one support during the course?

Unfortunately no, this course isn't designed to replace therapy or counselling, or to provide one-to-one support or advice. We definitely encourage you to seek individual support if you feel you could benefit from it. Please see your general practitioner for a referral to a mental health professional.

If you are concerned about your immediate safety or the safety of someone you love, please contact Emergency Services in your area (in Australia 000) or Lifeline (if in Australia) on 13 11 14.

Can I buy the course as a gift?

Yes, absolutely! Just put the recipient's details in the registration info, and your details in the payment details. They will get an email with the details.

If you have bought it for yourself too, make sure you log out first before you try to sign them up. If you have problems purchasing multiple accounts, try doing it in different browsers or on different devices. Let us know if you have any issues at hello@theschoolofselfcare.com

Do you practice what you teach, and treat yourselves with self-compassion?

Yes! We both feel very grateful to be psychologists and to learn such powerful strategies, not only to help other people, but also ourselves. We're human with our own struggles and we have found self-compassion to be invaluable in our own lives. We truly hope you do too.
